Detailed Description

Cefjiyo-LB Take with or without food. It should be swallowed as a whole, do not crush or chew the tablet. The dose and duration of Lactic Acid Bacillus+cefixime can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. It is also recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better, as it is an antibiotic. Leaving it in between may lead to severe infection that will stop responding to the antibiotic (antibiotic resistance). Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, abdominal pain, and Headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently. Before starting Cefjiyo-LB , please inform your doctor if you have any allergies (against any antibiotic) or kidney or liver problems. Do not take on your own, as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking Cefjiyo-Lb . As far as it is known, it may be used in pregnancy. Consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with Cefjiyo-LB. At Jiyyo, we bridge the gap between quality and affordability. Cefjiyo-LB is manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities following strict global safety standards. Because of our commitment to excellence, Jiyyo's own network of doctors frequently prescribes this medicine, ensuring patients receive reliable treatment they can trust.

Uses

Treatment of bacterial infections such as:

Respiratory tract infections

Urinary tract infections (UTI)

Ear, nose & throat infections

Gastrointestinal infections

Helps restore healthy gut bacteria during or after antibiotic therapy

Benefits

  • Cefixime (antibiotic): Cefixime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for bacteria to survive and multiply in the body. This action kills the harmful bacteria causing the infection. Cefixime does not work against viral infections like the cold or flu.
  • Lactobacillus (probiotic): Lactobacillus is a live microorganism (beneficial bacteria) that helps maintain a healthy balance of microflora in the gut environment. Antibiotics can disrupt this balance, often leading to side effects like diarrhea. The addition of Lactobacillus helps mitigate these gastrointestinal side effects.
Key Benefits:
  • Treatment of bacterial infections: The primary benefit is the effective treatment of various bacterial infections in areas such as the ears, nose, throat, lungs (pneumonia, bronchitis), and urinary system.
  • Prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea: Lactobacillus helps prevent and manage diarrhea and other stomach upsets (nausea, vomiting, gas) that are common side effects of taking broad-spectrum antibiotics like cefixime.
  • Restoration of gut health: It supports the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestine, helping to restore the natural balance of gut flora that may be upset by the antibiotic treatment.
  • Improved tolerance: By protecting the gut flora, the combination generally improves the patient’s tolerance to the antibiotic regimen.
  • By choosing Jiyyo’s generic version, you receive the exact therapeutic benefit of the leading brand at a fraction of the cost, backed by our quality guarantee.

How drug works

Cefjiyo-LB is a combination of two medicines: Cefixime and Lactobacillus. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Lactobacillus is a live micro-organism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

Our formulation ensures optimal bioavailability, meaning the body absorbs the active ingredients efficiently to provide faster relief.

Safety advice

Key Safety Advice:

Medical Supervision is Essential: This medication is for bacterial infections and should only be used under a doctor’s supervision. Do not self-medicate.

  • Complete the Full Course: Finish the entire prescribed course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve sooner. Stopping early can lead to the infection returning and developing antibiotic resistance.
  • Timing of Probiotics: If you are taking the Lactobacillus as a separate supplement (rather than in a combined pill), it is generally advised to take it at least 1 to 2 hours before or after the cefixime dose to minimize any decrease in the probiotic’s effectiveness.
  • Allergies: Inform your doctor if you have any history of allergies to cefixime, penicillins, or other cephalosporin antibiotics, as allergic reactions can be serious.
  • Pre-existing Conditions: Exercise caution and inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a weak immune system, or a history of gastrointestinal diseases, particularly colitis or seizure disorders.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The medication is prescribed only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
  • Alcohol: Avoid or limit alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may cause excessive drowsiness or other adverse effects.
  • Driving/Operating Machinery: This medication may cause dizziness or confusion in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience these symptoms.

Storage Instructions

FAQs

Q. Is Cefjiyo-LB an antibiotic?

Yes. It contains Cefixime, which is an antibiotic, along with a probiotic.

Q: How does this medication work?
Cefjiyo-LB is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing the formation of their protective cell walls. Lactobacillus is a beneficial live microorganism (probiotic) that helps restore the balance of “good” bacteria in the intestines that can be upset by antibiotic use, thus preventing diarrhea and other digestive issues.
Q: Can I stop taking the medicine once I feel better?
No, you must complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve early. Stopping the antibiotic course prematurely can lead to the infection returning and potentially developing antibiotic resistance, making it harder to treat in the future.
Q: Should I take it with food?
It can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may help reduce gastrointestinal side effects like nausea and stomach upset, which are common with antibiotics.
Q: Are there any specific dietary restrictions?
It is generally recommended to avoid consuming dairy products (like milk, cheese, and yogurt) around the same time you take the medication, as calcium can interfere with the absorption of the antibiotic. You should also avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.
Q: What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, gas, indigestion, and headache. If you experience severe or persistent side effects, or signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, trouble breathing), seek medical attention immediately.
Q: Can I take other medications or supplements with Cefjiyo-LB?
Inform your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, and herbal products you are taking. This combination may interact with blood thinners (like warfarin) and certain vaccines (like the typhoid vaccine). It is recommended to take separate probiotic supplements at least 1 to 2 hours before or after the antibiotic dose to minimize interaction.
Q: Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
The use of this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with a doctor. It is only prescribed if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

Q. Can it cause diarrhea?

It is less likely, as it contains Lactic Acid Bacillus, which helps prevent diarrhea.

Q. Is it safe for children?

It may be prescribed for children, but only under a doctor’s guidance.

Q. Can it be taken with food?

Yes, it can be taken with or without food.
