Detailed Description

J-Traxon-TZ 1.125 Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination of  Ceftriaxone 1000 mg and  Tazobactam 125 mg used for the effective treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections. Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria through interference with bacterial cell wall synthesis. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps prevent bacterial resistance, thereby enhancing and prolonging the effectiveness of Ceftriaxone.

This combination is commonly prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract (such as pneumonia), urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, bloodstream, and intra-abdominal infections. It is also used for the prevention of infections before and after surgical procedures. The medicine is administered by intravenous infusion or injection and should be used strictly under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Completing the full prescribed course is essential to ensure effective treatment and to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance.

At Jiyyo, we bridge the gap between quality and affordability. J-Traxon-TZ 1.125 Injection is manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities following strict global safety standards. Because of our commitment to excellence, Jiyyo's own network of doctors frequently prescribes this medicine, ensuring patients receive reliable treatment they can trust.

How drug works

J-Traxon-TZ 1.125 is a combination of two medicines: Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Tazobactum is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria.

Our formulation ensures optimal bioavailability, meaning the body absorbs the active ingredients efficiently to provide faster relief.

Safety advice

  • Calcium Interaction (Fatal Risk): Ceftriaxone must not be mixed or administered simultaneously with any calcium-containing intravenous solutions (including Ringer’s or Hartmann’s solutions), even via different infusion lines. In neonates, this interaction can be fatal due to the formation of precipitates in the lungs and kidneys. In older children and adults, a calcium-containing solution may be administered sequentially, but lines must be thoroughly flushed with a compatible fluid between infusions.
  • Allergies: Inform your doctor immediately if you are allergic to ceftriaxone, tazobactam, penicillins, or any other beta-lactam antibiotics, as severe and potentially fatal allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome) have been reported.
  • Medical Conditions: Discuss your full medical history with your doctor, especially if you have:
    • Kidney or liver problems.
    • A history of gastrointestinal disorders, particularly colitis (inflammation of the large intestine).
    • Gallbladder disease or a history of kidney stones.
    • Hemolytic anemia (a condition where red blood cells are destroyed).
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks, and after consulting with your doctor.
  • Pediatric Use: The medication is generally contraindicated in premature and full-term newborns (up to 28 days old) due to the risk of bilirubin encephalopathy (jaundice-related brain damage) and calcium interaction.
  • Driving: The medication may cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel dizzy or unwell.

Storage Instructions

Q: How does it work? Ceftriaxone is a cephalosporin antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from forming protective cell walls, which are essential for their survival. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases) that would otherwise inactivate ceftriaxone, thereby enhancing its effectiveness and reducing bacterial resistance.

Do not administer simultaneously with calcium-containing IV solutions, especially in newborns, due to the risk of potentially fatal precipitates forming in the body.

Inform your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.

Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start feeling better, to prevent the infection from returning and becoming resistant.
